To carry out education at the tertiary level, students need education costs either sourced from parental financing funds or through scholarships.

The Soil Science study program runs fulltime education. The Department of Soil Science does not provide weekend classes or part-time classes. Usually students each semester will get a lecture credit load of around 20-24 credits, and will decrease after entering semester 7, where the minimum credits taken by students to be able to graduate in the Soil Science study program are 144 credits. 1 course credit is equivalent to 170 minutes per week. If students want to study while working, they need to divide their time extra carefully so that the lecture process does not fail. Students studying while working are usually in semester 7 and above.

For students / prospective students who want to get scholarships during education, they can participate in various scholarships provided either by the APBN, the local government of the student's origin, scholarships from companies or scholarships from certain foundations. The scholarships can be in the form of tuition assistance only or tuition fees + living expenses (fully funded).
